Found the cable, here are the photos:
Water shortage area... right...
I don't eat for other people. I eat for myself.
The river through Hamilton.
This got me an idea for a movie: time capluse theft! Why? How? Is time travel involved? Not sure myself.
View over Te Aroha.
Physics? I'm on the lower half of the planet!
Above the roofs of Tauranga.
Tempting...
Minor spoilers. Mayor squick.
Mt Maunganui.
small...
medium...
Large. From the peninsula you can see the freight ship who's fuel tanks polluted the beaches last october.
I just love to climb around this place, then find the best spot to sit and watch the waves. No right angles.
I'll try to keep the rest of the photos safe, but uploading is enerving, so look forward to a slideshow as I return some day.
Greetings,
Patrick

Hallo people!
The good news: I'm alive and well in Mt Maunganui. A little infection of my toenail was treated by a doctor who simply cut away the side of nail and toe. hurted like hell but immediatly after that, the toe was fine. I rejected antiviotics and got an ointment instead.
The bad news: My photos were lost during a data-shifting session with a public pc in order to get a used 40 $ netbook to run linux. It didn't work because it was a cheap chinese one, apparently without a bios, but I managed to sell it for 80 $ to another backpacker.
At the moment, the day-to-day plan is to slack at the beach, the peninsula and the mount while the darn battery of another netbook takes ages to arrive via mail to the store.
I add recent photos from after the loss after I find my usb cable. Don't leave your stuff in the power outlet ;-)
Greetings,
Patrick

hi, everybody!
I am currently staying at the Solscape just out of Raglan, a surf mekka of sorts. On saturday there is the 'extreme waste recycled raft race'. If I can't assemble a team (and a raft) till then, I'll at least watch.
Photo and video material so far are 1,6 gb. You will get it in chunks later. I lost my notebook two days ago, and yesterday I came up with the perfect form of journal: notes to dreams in the morning, costs over the day and report on the day at the evening. If only I had thought of this before I started spending on visum and papers in Bielefeld.
I finished 'the fountainhead' some days ago, next to some german not-yet-students reassuring each others what an important job teacher is and the best thing todo if you have no idea what else to do. Toohey approves. Also, I did not pay 20 dollars for photos of me in a zorb ball rolling down a hill, I just photographed them off the screen. I did not tumble down a hill for you to envy over some hd-photos, but for me making the experience. A very applicable book. But right now, it is just weight to me.
During the rest of the day, I will reconstruct my first weeks and post them. Also, my cv needs some final touch before I apply for a job at every biotech-company located at the coast.
Till then,
kia ora
ps. two days ago, I found out that 'kia ora' does not just mean 'welcome', but also 'be here' or 'be alive'. Good advice when your brain spills out random pop culture references because it craves leisure internet usage. That'll pass, I'm sure.
